Soft, slightly sweet, and perfect for cooler weather meals, these Honey Squash Dinner Rolls are a cozy addition to any table. Made with mashed winter squash and a touch of honey, they’re tender, flavorful, and great for sharing.

Honey Squash Dinner Rolls 🍯🎃
Ingredients
2 packages active dry yeast
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
½ cup honey
1¼ cups milk
½ cup butter
12 oz (about 1⅓ cups) mashed winter squash
1 large egg, beaten
6 to 6½ cups flour
Sesame seeds, for topping
Instructions
In a large bowl, mix the yeast and nutmeg into the honey. Set aside.
In a saucepan, melt the butter. Stir in the milk and mashed squash until combined. Let the mixture cool slightly, then add it to the honey mixture. Mix well.
Gradually add about 3 cups of flour, stirring until a soft, sticky dough forms.
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead, adding more flour as needed, until the dough is smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and set in a warm place. Let rise until doubled in size, about 1–2 hours.
Punch down the dough and divide it into 24 equal pieces. Shape into balls and place in two greased 9-inch pans (cast iron skillets work great).
Cover and let rise again until doubled in size.
Brush the tops with the beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake at 375°F for about 25 minutes, or until golden brown. If needed, loosely cover with foil during the last 5 minutes to prevent over-browning.
